Work is focused on attracting philanthropic grants and federal dollars to support new jobs and services for opportunity zones. There are 5 zones in Canton, 3 in Massillon and 1 in Alliance.

Opportunity Zones are economically-distressed communities that have been designated by the Federal Government. These zones are eligible for tax deferment and other funding that is designed to spur economic development.
