What Is Stark Tank?

Led by Stark Education Partnership and modeled after the television show Shark Tank, Stark Tank is a team of Stark County Sharks (successful local entrepreneurs) who are on the hunt to find and fund the best entrepreneurial ideas in our community.

There are three levels for the 2022/2023 Stark Tank:

1. High School: Established Teams

2. High School: Conceptual Teams

3. College

Students with an interest in entrepreneurship have the unique opportunity to present their killer business idea as part of Stark Tank in a business pitch competition among their peers.

Strengthening Stark - Stark Tank

College Edition

OVERVIEW 
Stark Tank: College Edition is a collaborative initiative of The Stark Education Partnership and Strengthening Stark. This entrepreneurial challenge is modeled after the television show Shark Tank. This program is only made possible through the generous support of a team of local entrepreneurs. They provide the funding and serve as the Sharks (judges) for the finals.

GOAL
To find, fund and support marketable businesses to help Stark County grow and prosper.

ELIGIBILITY
Any college student or college team from the University of Akron, Aultman College, Kent State University at Stark, Malone University, University of Mount Union, NEOMED, Stark State College or Walsh University with a startup company or a great entrepreneurial idea is eligible to participate in Stark Tank: College Edition.

PROGRAM TIMELINE
February 1, 2023: Please sign up for the competition by February 1 - Sign Up Here
March 1, 2023: Deadline to submit Business Plan and 60-second elevator pitch - Submit Here
April 1, 2023: Notification of top teams selected for finals
May 17, 2023: Finals - 6:15 pm. Stark State Silk Auditorium

High School Edition: Conceptual Teams

OVERVIEW 
Stark Tank: High School Edition is a collaborative initiative of The Stark Education Partnership, The Stark County ESC, and Strengthening Stark. This entrepreneurial challenge is modeled after the television show Shark Tank. This program is only made possible through the generous support of a team of local entrepreneurs.  They provide the funding and serve as the Sharks (judges) for the finals. 

GOAL
To build upon and advance entrepreneurship skills; to maintain and grow interest in Entrepreneurship and encourage more students to consider a future in Entrepreneurship. 

ELIGIBILITY
Any student attending a Stark County High School with a great entrepreneurial idea is eligible to participate in the competition. 

PROGRAM TIMELINE
December 15, 2022: Deadline to enter the competition - Sign Up Here
January 2023: Informational Sessions
February 17, 2023: Elevator pitch submission due - Submit Here
March 10, 2023: Notification of top teams selected for finals
April 26-27, 2023: Finals - Stark State Business & Entrepreneurship Building; Room M100 @ 6:15pm (note: the competition will take place over two nights to allow more teams to compete)
