After a one-year absence, the Black College Football of Fame Classic makes its return to Canton this September, featuring two of the most storied Historically Black Colleges and Universities in the country.margin-left:0in;vertical-align:baseline'>Tennessee State University and Grambling State University will meet, kicking kick off each team’s 2021 season, at 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 5. The game also will include the schools’ legendary marching bands with hundreds of members each.

On Saturday, Sept. 4 in Centennial Plaza in downtown Canton, families can take part in a new Classic tradition: a Fun Fest that will bring music, karaoke, line dancing, a talent show and some of the best food Canton has to offer. Along with the Classic Fun Fest, the Saturday schedule includes a free “Faith, Family & Football Gospel Concert” featuring 11-time Grammy nominee Marvin Sapp.

The “Battle of the Tigers” is a highly anticipated meeting of two teams with deep roots in the Black College Football Hall of Fame – 19 combined inductees – and the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
