Workforce Innovation & Opportunity Act (WIOA) federal funding is a limited type of funding dispersed by OhioMeansJobs Stark County that provides training assistance for eligible individuals who require additional skills and would like to enter an in-demand career.  If you are interested in applying for workforce funded training and are age 25 and over:

Please Note:

  • You MUST be a resident of STARK or TUSCARAWAS County to apply for WORKFORCE FUNDING.  Please go to www.OhioMeansJobs.com to find locations of OhioMeansJobs Centers in other areas.
  • You MUST have chosen your program of study and school you plan to attend BEFORE you apply for funding assistance.  If you are unsure about what kind of training you want, visit www.OhioMeansJobs.com  to do some career exploration.
  • We DO NOT assist with STARTING an associate’s degree or bachelor’s degree.  We will only consider picking up the LAST TWO SEMESTERS of either degree program.
  • The decision regarding funding may not be made until CLOSE TO YOUR TRAINING START DATE.  We anticipate a high demand for WORKFORCE FUNDING, and it may take several weeks to process and review your paperwork.  Please consider ALTERNATIVE PLANS on how you will pay for schooling if these funds are not awarded.
